Biotin for Hair Growth

February 2, 2012

A fantastic and little known trick is that Biotin strengthens hair, skin and nails.

The body makes a small amount, but adding a 5mg dose of the B vitamin to your routine may enhance hair growth.  My favorite brand is Country Life.  Other sources of Biotin include: Brewer’s yeast, liver, soybeans, soy flour, rice bran, rice germ, rice polishings, peanut butter, walnuts, roasted peanuts, pecans, barley, oatmeal, cooked egg yolks, saltwater fish, whole grains, blackeye peas, almonds, brown rice.

Both my mother and I have thinner, brittle hair.  She got me started with supplementing Biotin when I 21 and I am forever grateful.  Currently my hair is stronger than when I was a teen and hers possesses more luster than ever!  Plus our nails are fabulous!
