Angela Kukhan told me recently that the ultimate tool of manipulation is having the moral high ground. After I was mind F!#%ed for a moment it made sense. To take a righteous attitude toward anything is to denigrate it. Joseph Cambell says “when we talk about settling the world’s problems, we’re barking up the wrong tree. The world is perfect. It’s a mess. It has always been a mess. We are not going to change it. Our job is to straighten out our own lives.” It is our ego that wants to control the world around us. We have to have the humility to surrender and look at ourselves. The world isn’t the problem. Peace starts from within and radiates out. We are what we pay attention to; so choose your thoughts wisely. If all you see are lies and bigotry then you better check yourself. The world you live in is a reflection of you. Be the humble warrior, look inside and observe negative, accusatory thinking patterns. Anger is not a healthy motivational force, it is a spiteful. Cultivate an authentic, supportive attitude and the world will support you.

This past weekend MacKenzie turned the big 2-8 and instead of receiving gifts she asked people to purchase a “EFF CANCER” teeshirt instead. Those of you have have already purchased yours, thank you! Please take a moment to check out Unify to Thrive‘s website and all their rocking gear that the proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. If a teeshirt is out of your budget you can donate as little as $5! Cancer is something that has effected us all in some way, so take a moment and give a little or a lot! :) Soon to come: a picture of MacKenzie handstanding in her “eff cancer” tank.
PS: It’s super cute and comfortable. I received it a week ago and have worn it twice and gotten lots of compliments and questions!! Share the love!
Stay present through the journey that is life, yoga, and love. Be happy with where you are and know that you’re giving it your all to get where you want to be. The journey makes the goal worth achieving. Take constant steps forward and one day you’ll find yourself where you’ve always wanted to be. Trust the journey, love it, and smile.
We have a saying in yoga: “No excuses, best results.” Not even wrist surgery can stop GR from hand standing.
It’s not what you do that causes injury, it’s how you do it. If your activities are hurting you, you are doing something wrong- Doesn’t take much to figure that one out! Reevaluate your alignment and make it work. The only thing stopping you from achieving any of your goals is the bullshit excuses you tell yourself.
It’s summer time! It’s time to show off the stems, the guns, or whatever your best (ass)et may be! Summer is the time that people tend to be the fittest version of themselves! It’s equally as important to take great care of the largest organ of your body, YOUR SKIN! My best beauty tips for your skin are drink lots of water and moisturize. One of my favorite skincare products is Body Ceutical’s Pink Grapefruit Body Butter! The scent is refreshing and the lotion is like butter on your skin without leaving it greasy or sticky!
